Fort Worth Shuffle
Original watercolor, approximately 12" x 19." This painting is my attempt to capture real people on a Saturday night in Texas. I tried to freeze that last moment before movement. The harsh back light and people dancing country in beat up dance halls and cheap stage lights brings memories of my own college days. One of the things that captured my interest in this painting was the cowboys backlit shirt and hat. Also, the starched light kaki pants with their knife-edge crease seems to symbolize the "western" heritage this painting celebrates. I first called this painting "Country Dancing" until my professional dance instructor daughter informed me that the couple was really doing the Fort Worth Shuffle. This painting is owned by James and Joy Duggins of Southlake, Texas. If you wish to make a reasonable purchase offer, please check the painting's selling price before contacting the artist. I will relay all reasonable offers to the painting's owners. |
