Salado Creek, 1931

Original oil painting, 5' x 4'.

Early in my painting career, I did an outdoor art show on the bank of this creek in Salado, Texas, a little North of Austin. Temperature must have been 110 degrees. As I studied the colors and values of this painting's background, I wished I could soak my feet in its cool water.

The Ford is 1930 vintage. The young Texans splashing in the creek (in my imagination) may have been my parents.
