The richness of Alizarin Crimson in this study of red onions was what appealed to me.
Also, this is the painting done right after "Pink Roses" and may have been a reaction in an opposite direction.
Either way, I found it most enjoyable, almost therapeutic. Something about laying dark washes satisfies the soul.
