Thank you for your interest ...

Art is difficult to price. To the artist, a painting is a finished labor of love -- almost like a child -- never to be sold, only to be shared. But often the artist's desire to share art coincides with an individual's or institution's desire to possess that art for its own purposes and a sale becomes necessary.

All of the watercolor paintings showcased on this website are originals. I do not believe in "prints" which are everywhere. While lithographs and gicllee prints are fine quality, they are still (to me) expensive posters - marketing ploys to create cash flow for artists, galleries, art shows and publishers. Even individually numbered and signed reproductions in editions are not art, just products like your breakfast cereal. The printmaking arts (etchings, etc.) are the exception. I know prints have significant value to appreciators and collectors. I do not attempt to degrade their values and prices. I only control my own prices and reproduction rights.

My watercolor paintings for sale do not include reproduction rights for profit in their purchase price. The transfer of ownership is by bill of sale which specifically states reproduction rights for profit are retained by the artist. However, that bill of sale also states that if I, the artist, ever release reproductions for profit the buyer shares 35% of the net (after all costs) profits from sales of that original's reproductions. If you purchase my watercolors you may do with them what you wish -- other than reproduce them in any form for profit. I the artist retain all reproduction rights.

Couple of other things:

You may not purchase any of these paintings from this website totally unseen. Painting reproductions on the web are much less visually than they are in their original. I want you to know, to love and truly appreciate what you are buying so I insist that you view your prospective purchase in person. If possible, I will bring the painting to you (contact me) or if that is impossible I do several shows and exhibits annually, click here for my itinerary. Also, my studio is very near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and (by appointment) I can present any painting for preview outside your gate area during a layover or a fly in.

Even if you are not purchasing a painting it is so important to me that you be able to see and enjoy my paintings. Come, visit my booths at shows, see my paintings in the flesh at exhibits and enjoy my art. They are so much more than you see on the web. Paintings are a mass communications medium. Their visual enjoyment is something to be shared.
