This painting is a sample portrait that I use to attract portrait commissions. It clearly shows my philosophy of not using standard poses for people's portraits.
However, this painting is also one of my personal favorites. I think of Gaveston, Texas, with its French influence and its ghosts of the pirate Jean Lafitte.
There this Texas Cajun sits and stares over the balcony waiting eternally for her man to come home.
