| Watch a painting happen... Painting Three, Step Ten Back to the marbles... On the right is the painting in its present degree of finish. I wanted to pull the marbles together and give them something in common to accomplish unity. I have washed the marbles with Sap Green diluted heavily. Together, they now seem to stand out from the "blue-white" place mat. The effect is subtle. I hope you can see it on the web. I have found seeing a picture on the web is much like seeing one in a book. They look nice but are nothing compared to the original. Next step is to bring the marbles closer to completion - to the same level as the shell. |

To the left, the marbles before this step of work and to the right, after.
I am using the same gray mixture as earlier plus a wash of diluted Zap Green. This sample is the beginning. I have many marbles left to go before a new posting. |
