Window Onions

Original watercolor, approximately 7" x 9."

This painting is an exploration of spontaniaty and minamilism.

The onions in a stemmed glass sitting in a window sill are a study of green shapes flowing upward - painted with as minimum an effort as I am stylistically able.

Simple treatment is the point here. I wanted to catch just the essence of the still life, not its detail. And I wanted to catch that essence simply and eloquently.
