These paintings are watercolors on cold press, acid-free paper. Cold press means the paper has texture compared to hot press which is smooth. Painting with watercolors is challenging. There is no white paint. White is the color of the paper showing through. Pastel colors are mixed by thinning paint with water that allows more paper to show. I frame all my paintings alike, --black, wooden, under glass, and in white acid-free mats. Most people who acquire original paintings reframe to compliment their home or office. Since my paintings don't specialize in subject matter, I am often asked why I choose a particular subject. To answer these questions, I include a few thoughts on the painting with each "Enlargement." Thank you. |
