| Shown above is my oil painting "On Lake Travis." Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, is an institution in Texas lore. Generations of young people have flocked to its beaches and launched their boats from its boat ramps. But as a lake, it looks much like many Texas lakes and is not so inspiring to a painter. I chose to catch the light, the spirit and the youth of the lake with this portrait of two young Texans taking their turn on Lake Travis and continuing a tradition etched in their heritage. | |||||||||||||||||||||
